Probiotics In Autistic Children Diet

 

Autistic children have a higher level of certain bacteria in their gut - compared to children without autism - that are connected to their brain, a study has revealed. According to wikipedia, autism is a brain development disorder characterized by impaired social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior.

Prof. Glenn Gibson has done a study on the connection between autism and a bacteria called clostridium. Clostridium is a hostile bacteria that produce neurotoxin, which is believed to be one of autism causes.

We already know that autism children often get diarrhea and constipation, which will affect on the number of microbes in their gut. Probiotics on the other hand, consist of living microorganisms such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium. These good bacteria will improve the balance of microflora in your children intestinal tract.
